fossilized6s
You are correct, it is a ray tooth. More pic angles are necessary for an ID though. Taogan
Yes, ray tooth. Needs a few more angles and a location for an ID.
sixgill pete
Yes a ray tooth, Dasyatis sp. a stingray. Very common tooth in Lee Creek matrix, especially the older more fossil rich stuff. FossilDAWG
If you turned it around it would make a nice earring in that photo. Don

sixgill pete
I am presuming the tooth came from Lee Creek Micro matrix as his other post was about teeth from Lee Creek matrix. As everyone said it is a ray tooth. But that's only a partial ID. If it is indeed from Lee Creek matrix, it is a stingray tooth, Dasyatis sp. Even from other locations it would still be a dasyatid tooth from what I see Bulldozers and dirt Bulldozers and dirt behind the trailer, my desert Them red clay piles are heaven on earth I get my rocks off, bulldozers and dirt Patterson Hood; Drive-By Truckers May 2016 May 2012 Aug 2013, May 2016, Apr 2020 Oct 2022
