Not Bird But What? Id Please?

Almost out of fossil area. They are digging below the fossil layer now. Found a couple pieces on the wall of the pit.

So....Pleistocene? Ribs and all found a few feet from each other. Looks like a deer vert I found...but BIG!

That would be interesting! Most things I find are sea going. An occasional deer. It will be interesting to hear from Bobby!?

Not a bison - that's a pretty good match for the atlas vertebra of the Pliocene walrus Valenictus chulavistensis. Nice find! Walrus fossils aren't exactly common. I don't immediately recognize the smaller atlas, but that very well could be an ungulate.
