Weez Posted March 29, 2015 Share Posted March 29, 2015 I found this while hiking last week in northwestern Wyoming (Bighorn Basin). Looks like fossilized wood to me, but is different than anything I've ever seen. I am no expert, but the color and structure looks a little strange to me. If wood is involved at all, it would be only as an impression on the surface in the first image, IMO.
