Dave pom Allen Posted March 31, 2015 Share Posted March 31, 2015 Hi folks just got home from a trip to the south island of new zealand went to mt cass, motunau, oaro and the bluffs where we found a heap of crabs from motunau and glenafric also a humrus of a pelagonithid. then we went north to kaikoura were i found and ticked off a couple off my wish list a nice big piece of petrified wood and mossasaur material a nice partial jaw with teeth.here are a couple of shots a stunning place mt cass jaw fragment petrified wood Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Doctor Mud Posted March 31, 2015 Share Posted March 31, 2015 Nice finds Dave, That Mosasaur jaw is amazing! I love that crab conc up the top left. Looks like it split open almost perfectly. That picture of Mt Cass looks very familiar to me? is that at the bottom of the road at the end of that ranchers land where the creek is? Looks like you had a most wonderful time. Dave pom Allen Posted March 31, 2015 Author Share Posted March 31, 2015 hi MUD what your looking at is an inoceramus from the cretaceous another that is open is at the right hand corner next to a nice nautilus cretaceous, the humerus is as yet unprepped top middle i am in no hurry as i have a back log on my bench before i get to it.
