PrehistoricFlorida
North Sea fossils tend to dry out and crack over time. Sometimes, they are okay, such as the megaloceros jaw posted here. The majority of the time though, you have to be very careful buying North Sea fossils.P.S. If you were talking about the baby mammoth tooth, that one was from Brown Ridge, which I guess is right along the North Sea. It seems to be pretty solid. Only time will tell. The larger one is from a gravel quarry in southeast Poland. I was referring to the large mammoth tooth. Those roots on the tooth are just sick and I'd hate to see that tooth fall apart. I wouldn't be surprised if the finder had pulled that tooth out of a jaw, it's virtually impossible to find those roots intact. www.PrehistoricFlorida.com
32fordboy
Yeah, it is nice. Got it for a smokin' deal too. The seller would only send one pic of it, and the way it was laying, the roots didn't really show, so I was surprised when it arrived! www.nicksfossils.com
