I've hunted many favourable formations and found many partial ammonites and some very nice smaller ones. The trip last week to the Medicine Hat area provided me with the best find so far. The ammonite I found was resting on a hillside waiting for me. I am not certain of the identification and there is still a lot of work required to stabilize this baby! At the opening of the ammonite there is a baculite, a piece of which I was able to save. The remaining crushed baculite is still there, although not as distinct. JustPlainPetrified Posted June 15, 2015 Author Share Posted June 15, 2015 I cleaned up a few more...(1) is a Placenticeras intercalare, (2) is baculite mould with great suture lines, (3) is a piece of baculite in matrix with petrfied wood and teredolites.
