Looks like a crock tooth but really don't know. Bernissartia crocks are some of the smallest found and are Wealden Fossils.

Hey if you frequently collect that area let me suggest that you pick up the following reference book, its great.

Hi troodon thanks for the reply- I have been using that books it's a brilliant reference material and has helped me learn a lot in the recent months. From what I can tell Bennestilia are present in the Vectis and I have found quite a few of their teeth already unlike this teeth they are normally quite bulbous I believe and below is a picture of one o have found this is a little flatish (sorry didn't think of putting a side view photo at first :P) that's why it has thrown me if it looks crocodilians could it be Hylachamsa?

Many thanks GK

I have sent photos to the eBay dealer with the "scapula" to see if can ID for you. Your second set of photos looks more like Bennestilia. I'm not familiar with Hylachamsa.

I did get a reply and he first said that the scapula has been sold :D

His reply on the ID is as follows and I did not give him my thoughts.

"Regarding the tooth: I would say certainly croc! It looks like it could well be Bernissartia as well, it's the right size. Though Theriosuchus is a possibility as it's very similar"

So it appears its croc , now as to what species well I'll let you decide that. Hey good luck hunting those cliffs. Have had an opportunity or two to collect the area and it was fun but did not find very much.

By the way he is a trusted dealer so don't hesitate to buy from him but if you have a concern drop him a line on eBay or get on the Forum.
