IonRocks
So recently I took a trip to Nebraska and I found these two plates I'd like to prep them, but I don't know where to start! I've really only got dental tools, and an electric engraver. (And a Dremel, but I don't think that's helpful here)
IonRocks
The one plate has a nice crinoid stem that is already mostly exposed There is also lots of other fossils, but I don't have pictures of them yet Edited November 29, 2015 by IonRocks

Ptychodus04
I have had good luck with short applications of VERY diluted muriatic acid on crinoids in limestone/limey sandstones. If you don't let it sit long, and remember to dilute the acid, you won't etch the fossils. You can also start with vinegar, but you still don't want to let it sit in it.
