Identification Help

Recommended Posts

All samples posted are from the Flaxville Drainage area in northeastern Montana. Any and all help in identification of what has been found would be greatly appreciated. Avid rock collector with years of experience and would love to swap information as well as any finds that are of interest. Fossils, artifacts, or just down right cool looking rocks. My significant other is of native american decent and Sitting Bull can be traced in her lineage. So any Native American aritifacts or just pretty looking rocks are of added appeal. Cant wait to hear some of your responses!

The artifact looks like it could be an atlatl dart point or possibly a knife blade. It is far too large to be an actual arrowhead. The other specimen is interesting. It reminds me of some rough pieces of dinosaur bone that I have seen with the cell structure intact.
