I have resently tried these incredible blades from harbor frieght and they work well with pretty little effort considering it's cutting rock.

I have had success on matrix from Mt. Orab ohio, u dig Utah, and Penn Dixie.

Wish I discoverd these before I bought an angle grinder and masonry wheels! Works just as well with much less mess.

Update. This also worked on the scaphite material from eastern Montana I got from RBJ. I sued it to create a flat base so it would stand upright. The blade went much slower through this Montana material but still made it through.

Even going through the tougher material the blade appears to be in good shape. Looks like this will keep you from destroying tons of blades cutting matrix. It seem way tougher than normal blades.

Do you think it'd work for a female with little strength? Is this brand especially good or would any similar tool work?

I think it would work for a kid so yes it would work for a female even with little strength as you mention.

I had ok but slow sucess with regular hack saw blades. Thesee work much better.

It is not as fast a using a tile saw but works well. Safe. Little mess to clean up. These things make it great for an indoor work space.

That is a good idea and handy to carry on a trip.

Here is what I use, the wet tile saw. It uses a diamond blade and cuts through our type of rock like butter. They are not expensive, $49.99 US, And very safe. They will cut about 2.5 inches deep.
