How much are you looking to spend?

If less than $100, look into a Paasche air eraser.

Badger is a similar manufacturer.

The Paasche remote air eraser had high reviews from Ziggie C.

I use the Harbor Freight model, basically because I am cheap.

Works well enough for what I do, though.

You'll probably want to use baking soda for the Wheeler shale trilos.

Dolomite may be a bit too harsh.

Regards,

Yeah, I use the Harbor Freight model as well. It works quite well for simple prep jobs, and it's fairly easy to work with. Baking soda is very cheap and easily obtained - a box of baking soda is only 79 cents at my local dollar store.

Tim, Fossil Finder - do you mean baking soda for the air eraser?

Thanks!

Yes, baking soda is the abrasive you use in the air eraser.

Baking soda is one of the abrasives used. depends on the fossil and matrix. Dolomite Aluminum oxide, glass beads, iron powder, crushed walnut shells... all other options.

Scott,

They recommend not going above 65 PSI. I usually run mine between 45 and 55.

Hope that helps.
