Vopros
What do you think about the insect I found in Burmite amber Here's the full resolution https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3918/14877199014_8097a5bdf7_o.jpg The seller did not mention this one, so I found it myself. It is probably incomplete or there could be some parts of two or more different insects, but still I wonder what do you think. Thank you.
ynot
I can see two abdomens in the picture. Nice inclusions. Tony Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Tennessees Pride
Sorry, I can't tell much about it, but it's a wonderful addition no doubt. --- Joshua tennesseespride@gmail.com
abyssunder
Looks like a Crane Fly, maybe Polymera sp.,male (because the very long antennae). http://iz.carnegiemnh.org/cranefly/morphology.htm Edited March 3, 2016 by abyssunder 1 " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way. Vopros
Looks like a Crane Fly, maybe Polymera sp.,male (because the very long antennae). http://iz.carnegiemnh.org/cranefly/morphology.htm Thank you, everybody. About the very long antennae... Some time ago photographed a praying mantis that got trapped in Colombian copal. The full resolution is here: https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7035/13565087915_1225c778a9_o.jpg As you see it also has a very long antenna
abyssunder
Wow! Also a beauty! Last summer I had the opportunity to see lots of European Mantis (Mantis religiosa) in the forest close to my place, which is quite rare in this area in recent years. I thought they had disappeared, but apparently not. I was glad for that.
