pedrobento
Hi guys, I went to Big Brook yesterday morning for about 1 1/2 hours... too cold and rainy so I kept the exercise to a minimum... The fossils are from the Late Cretaceous. Over the years, I have found many Exogyra sp. and Pycnodonte sp, but never a piece with this type of feature or texture... any ideas of what this partial may be? Thanks, Pedro Pedro Bento, M.Sci. Rockwood
Perhaps a brachiopod. Some paleozoic fossils show up there once in a while.
squali
It looks similar to Cymella sp. Maybe C. undata ? Fragments can be very difficult. Edited April 10, 2016 by squali It's hard to remember why you drained the swamp when your surrounded by alligators.
Carl
It's definitely some kind of bivalve. Just a fragment.
