Tommydnc
Found this in the surf at the beach here in Wilmington NC today. Seems to be a tooth from something large, 2" long, widest point across top is 1 1/4", bottom/small end is roughly 1/2 round. I haven't seen any type of seraded areas/edges on it. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.
Auspex
My impression is that, if it has anything to do with a tooth, it is a root from a big one. Not seeing any enamel. Guguita2104
If the layers of that beach are Malm/Cretaceous in age, it could be a rudist.
