jpc
Here are some Eocene bones, preserved in some sort of blue minerals. I think I have shown you guys most of these pix in the past. I found a layer in southwestern Wyoming that has some blue bones... mostly crocodile. But in the first photo, the blue bone s a piece of turtle. (Note the croc scutes below it in brown). The second photo is a blueish croc vert. Edited May 30, 2016 by jpc

jpc
Tony... I had a gem person tell me that, but I have had others tell me it is not turquoise. I may need a fourth and seventh opinion. Here are a few more... A mammal jaw....unfortunately no teeth. Even though this is a pretty boring looking fossils, it is one of my favorites. It lets me dream of finding a blue mammal jaw... with blue teeth. Some croc and turtle bones. It occurs to me now that the block in my first post here is part of this larger piece...so we have turtle and croc bones in blue here. And this last block from the same site... lots of blue (and brown) croc bones. Edited May 30, 2016 by jpc
ynot
This is a piece of My handiwork. I found the turquoise and smithsonite, cut and polished them and set them in sterling silver. I also made the chain and clasp. The turquoise was cut from one small stone with the "ribbon" cut across the vein and the larger "spiderweb" piece was cut parallel to the vein. Tony, it is the smaller of the two camels we see in Florida Pleistocene: American genus of lamine camelid. Palaeolama mirifica, the "stout-legged llama" This one I think is a lower m3. Pagurus
Beautiful minerals and amazing blue fossils! Those blue meg teeth are incredible. I never would have imagined blue croc and turtle bones. Wonderful. Here's hoping you find those blue mammal teeth, jp. Terrific silver-work, Tony, and what a wonderful way to display your own finds! Nice. Real nice. Here's a piece of blue kyanite I bought at a small mineral and fossil show a few weeks ago. I almost never buy minerals but this was from a place that's special to me, Thomaston, CT. Start the day with a smile and get it over with.

TqB
An amazing range of blue things on here! I don't really collect minerals but have bought a few down the years just because they're beautiful. Here's a hemimorphite, 7cm across, from the 79 mine, Gila County, Arizona. Tarquin
Khyssa
So many beautiful specimens! Tarquin, the color of that hemimorphite is stunning. I seem to have a lot more blue then I do the other colors. Here's a few shells from here in south Florida. The coral is from Tampa Bay and the chert is from either Brooksville or Ocala, can't remember which. What a bargain! Here's another fluorite, one of my favourites, bought years ago. Blanchard Mine, New Mexico. 11 cm across, crystals about 9mm.
