Stan Simpson
I have another piece found near Houston Texas in a dredge operation. It has areas that are almost clear or crystal like but at the same time has a similar look and texture as bone. Does anyone have any ideas. Thanks so much. ynot
Looks like a chert or agate. Could be a piece of petrified wood, Does not look like a bone to Me. caldigger
It has those botryoidal "bubbles" similar to the fossil coral found in northern Florida.

The botryoidal area is a common feature of agate (and many other minerals). The geode corals of Florida and Georgia do have some great examples of botryoidal agate. abyssunder
I could see the botryoidal shapes and perpendicular crystal laminations. It's not a tooth or bone, but a mineral, though. 1 " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way.
