DE&i
I used to just bag up loose matrix from bone material to sieve for macros. This is the first time I've tried drying out the dirty water from gently cleaning the bone. I'll post some results in the New Year if I should fine anything interesting. Mike from North Queensland
Darren I suspect you will still have to sieve the material to get uniformity in size as you sort. If not as you look the prize find may be discarded because it was hidden from view by a larger rock. Mike D'Arcy
JohnJ
I've sieved 'prep matrix' with success in the past. I hope you find a few little 'gems', Darren. The human mind has the ability to believe anything is true. - JJ

old bones
Iv'e done this with some Cretaceous slurry that was left when washing the larger finds. It is surprising how many tiny treasures are in the dried mud that is left. Hope to see what you find.

DE&i
Thank you everyone, as I'm quite excited about this particular project. I've a tried and tested plan in place for this particular matrix , thanks to the help of @MarcoSr . But this will be a first for taking matrix from the bone. As apposed to gathering material from around Insitu bones for me. Here's a few more photos showing as much as the matrix removed as possible. It's quite time consuming with a sharpened wooden spatchler. 1 Regards.....D&E&i The only certainty with fossil hunting is the uncertainty. https://lnk.bio/Darren.Withers
