fifbrindacier
Are you speaking of the "top" of it, the part that is broken ? fifbrindacier
If it is a spine, then it can also be one of a Pseudocidaris thurmanni. Those spines are more round (i might say big) and their granulations are more marked comparing with the spines of Pseudocidaris mammosa. It is also a species you can find there, but much more rarely, in the same levels than mammosa. Some scientists think Pseudocidaris thurmanni is a juvenile form of Pseudocidaris mammosa. westcoast
I think pseudocidaris is a good call. They are wonderful looking echinoids. It certainly looks like a solid piece if calcite.

fifbrindacier
Are you looking for a kind of imprint ? Or maybe the base of the spine ? Coco
Hi, I look for a plan of typical cleavage of the calcite, which could indicate that this fossil could be a piece of a sea urchin spine. fifbrindacier
No, i don't see something like that either. It might be underneath, between it and the lopha.
