I found something !

Hello everyone !.

I  found this near the same place I found a vertebrae of a whale.I made a search in Google, and I think is a echinoderm fossil.What do you think? Am i absolutely wrong?

I agree with the sand dollar suggestion.  I'm not confident that it is modern, as modern ones tend to fragment along the sutures between plates unlike your specimen.

Thank you for answering so quickly !. I've never seen a sand dollar! I do not know if they can live in my region. I found it 2 km from the coast. From what I read on Wikipedia "live beyond the midline of low waters above or just below the surface of sandy or muddy areas." That beach is much farther from where I found it, about 16 km.

Is it necessary warm water ?. Here the water is cold.

I see many sand dollars on the beach here in California and the water can be as cold as 50 degrees F so the water doesn't not need to be that warm.

An echinoderm for sure, most likely a fossil, especially considering where you found it. Can we get a picture from the side so we can see the shape and thickness of it possibly. Most likely a sand dollar, but could be an irregular echinoid.
