Fossildude19
Welcome to the Forum. Looks like a bunch of Ichthyosaur verts, to me. Wait for some more experienced/local repliers, though. Pretty nice gift! Regards, 2 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Far2slim
The verts are only around 30mm each, so I thought it was probably a shark bone bed. there are a couple of belemnites on the back of it.
FossilDudeCO
looks to me like ichtyosaur as well... @JohnBrewer can you help? I don't think they are verts, I think they are paddles
Far2slim
That makes sense, So it's an Ichthyosaur paddle bone bed. Many thanks.
Fossildude19
@DE&i @TqB Ah, ... size is an important detail. Maybe another picture, with a ruler or tape measure next to it? 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Miocene_Mason
Nice one! “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason
GeschWhat
Beautiful piece! It almost looks phosphatic on the lower right edge. I wonder if this could be stomach contents or a coprolite. It reminds me of the illustration on the bottom of this plate from William Buckland's book. 2 Lori www.areallycrappystory.com/fossils www.facebook.com/fossilpoo

abyssunder
Not mine, unfortunately... I just received the high resolution pictures of Ichthyosaurus communis specimens from NHM. I think it might help, so I'll put them here with a little reduced size. 2 " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way.
