Just picked up this Amblypterus - a Permian fish from Pfalz, Germany. It was a Juvenile.

If i only saw the tail, it almost looks sharkish.

Frank.... Nice catch!..... Is that your area of collecting.... fish or fish from a specific group or age?....

Thanks, they are very shark like but actually are early examples of ray-fined fish.

I collect Fish mainly Silurian thru Mississipian with a lean towards species that link to Tetrapods. I also collect Amphibs and early reptiles, though i am not against adding anything else that appeals

Thanks. I think it's so with every collector. As you move from a generalist to a more specific interest you tend to get picky... :drool:
