Miocene_Mason
Looks like maybe a murex snail of some sort, could be a fossil. Was this found in a particular formation? “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason

I thought they are a more tropical species. Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." This may be true, but Croatia is on the Mediterranean Sea (more specifically the Adriatic) “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason

ynot
With something found on a beach it is hard to say if it is a fossil or not. If the species is extinct or there is rock adhered to it can tell if it is, but other than that not much can be said. Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." My Fossil collection - My Mineral collection My favorite thread on TFF.
