Allen Smilden
Hi everyone take a look at my collection of items I have won so far. I wanted to start out small with some stuff I thought would be cool to have. What do you guys think? No obvious fakes right? Dave Bowen
You have a nice start. In my opinion, you got good deals by paying less than $10 per item. It's tough to tell if they are fakes by looking at pictures, and sometimes it's hard to tell in person. I would assume they are real. Now, you need to get out and start collecting your own! That's half the fun! I'll tell you, I went out yesterday on what started out to be a collecting trip with just two of us. Before you know it, we had 5 additional people who ended up coming along. You can't get friendships like that, and you can't experience the excitement of seeing a little piece of ammonite sticking out of the ground, only to start digging it out and finding it's complete, from ebay. If I hadn't found a single thing yesterday, it was worth getting up at 5am and being with, and meeting new friends. Dave Bowen Collin County, Texas. Paleontology: The next best thing to time travel. Frank Menser
Not a bad group for the price. The only thing that raises an eyebrow would be the Proteus, but I beleave that to be real as usually the fakers add a load of scrach marks to disguise a fake. So nice haul! Be true to the reality you create.
Allen Smilden
Thanks for the replies and input its much appreciated. I can't wait to go out and look for some myself and hopefully find some that would be great As for the Proteus it has a crack in the back and looks like its been glued. I have read that this is generally a good thing.
