Hello all,

New member here wanting to say hello and learn more. My name is Brian Mitchell and been having fun on beaches for the last three years or so getting serious about fossils and trying to learn as much as I can. I do have to thank Cathy and Jack for getting me out there and learning so much more and turning it from a hobby into an obsession haha. Also, helping me turn a relationship into marriage!

I’ll post more pictures soon but we made it out to the Potomac yesterday and found a decent amount of fossils. Way too much walking though!

Welcome to the forum. :)

A nice set of teeth here. :dinothumb::meg:

Cool avatar picture, too. That's Damien Hirst's famous skull, which is one of the most expensive works of art in terms of the materials used (diamond-studded, platinum teeth, all on a 17th century skull).

Hello, and welcome from Morocco! :)

Nice set of teeth, the ray tooth plate is terrific.

Any chance of a close up of the object bottom right.

My terrible eyesight can't make it out, i'm afraid.

Welcome to the Forum from not too far away! Those are some really nice finds! The complete ray plate especially, although those teeth are awesome too!

Not very much clearer, i'm afraid.

But I reckon it could be a section of fish backbone with some ribs sticking out?

Thank you @WhodamanHD @Kane and @Tidgy's Dad  I think that is the most complete ray plate I’ve ever found and almost walk past it thinking it was a bone. I believe the other fossil is a fossilized fish tail but took another picture of it and hopefully you can see it better @Tidgy's Dad

Looks like a chunkosaurus, from there it’s probably croc or turtle.

Welcome from North Central Texas.

Love the ray plate. Nice teeth too. You see lots of teeth, but not many ray plates like that.

The odd looking item in the bottom lower right of the first picture is a fish hypural bone.

Very nice finds! Here's a closeup of your hypural, brightened a little, along with a diagram, from here.

I’m glad someone else knows about that skull @Kane I’ve had that picture for a long time and whenever I show it off, nobody knows about it
