Cowboy Paleontologist
Hopefully we'll have better luck with this one than my last post This is a trilobite which I was given as a Christmas gift many years ago. I haven't the slightest idea where it may have come from, but I think it may be from the order Phacopida. If anyone can tell what it is as well as where/when it could be from I would greatly appreciate it! More pictures:
Cowboy Paleontologist
And I forgot to mention, the specimen is about 35 mm long.
Douvilleiceras
Hollardops mesocristata (Le Maître ,1952), Family Acastidae, Order Phacopida. Middle Devonian in age, from one of the many sites in Morocco. 2 Regards, Jason "Trilobites survived for a total of three hundred million years, almost the whole duration of the Palaeozoic era: who are we johnny-come-latelies to label them as either ‘primitive’ or ‘unsuccessful’? Men have so far survived half a per cent as long." - Richard Fortey, Trilobite: Eyewitness to Evolution.

Cowboy Paleontologist
Thanks! For future reference, does anybody know of any good trilobite ID resources such as dichotomous keys?
