I preped this cute partial trilobite last month. This bug was from by secret Santa in Canada:)

I worked with engraving pen! Not a perfect tool for prep but also not bad for starter.(Sadly, I don't have enough money for air scribe and compresor.)

REALLY amateur job... white spots are my mistakes:(....

I hope I can do better next time. I believe the more practice, the better....

Thanks!

Is this an enrolled bug or prone positioned?  I can't really tell from the pictures. Not too bad of a prep with the tool you used.

I'd say quite good given the tool used!

Well done. :fistbump:

Practice makes perfect! ;)

EDIT:  You might consider investing in some of this type of tip  - it would give you more control, and allow you to get closer to the fossil more easily.

When I used an engraver I bought a set of these tips and adaptor and the difference was huge. Haven’t seen the online seller for a while tho

I guess I was lucky to get a set when I did!

They are very good with tighter spaces.

I pulled those images from a well known auction site. ;)

Seems to be available still.

Nice prep:dinothumb:

I’m considering one of those because my manual scribe is super tedious.

Good work! And hopefully soon you'll have a lot more to practice prep on. ;)

Yes, it's hard to wait:drool:
