new fossil to identify. vertebrae

I have a feeling that kbodyboard isn't claiming that each individual vertebra is 3 meters long.  Perhaps he meant that the largest section of the vertebral column is 3 meters.

 

As far as Ptychodus is concerned, you might find some links to articles of interest in the 'Primitive' Sharks section (LINK) in my pdf library here on The Fossil Forum.  Just scroll down to the section on Family Ptychodontidae.
