Jazfossilator
Sorry for the not so great pictures as I’m in the process of getting a new phone, any clues as to what this small piece might be from? The texturing I swear I’ve seen on some pieces I’ve found before but I can’t seem to find them, if I do I’ll post additional pics. Any help appreciated, found Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Thanks for the quick reply! I’m gonna get some pictures that show the details a bit better.

Rockwood
Are you quite certain it isn't humanite ? Looks suspiciously automotive to me.

It it is automotive, then it should be some type of plastic and therefore a burn test would tell.
Jazfossilator
Well it’s not plastic, rubber or any other car material known to me,and it leaves no trace on unglazed ceramic. it does have a man made look to it but I’m just not sure. I’ll post clearer pics when I can just to clear the air

abyssunder
In any case, it's not a fossil. 1 " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way. Plax
looks vaguely like Basilemys. Perhaps a marginal? Can you get a sharp close up of a broken edge?

Plax
perhaps one of our commentators from the western interior or Alberta can give an opinion if this looks like Basilemys? (or some such) Still can't shake the thought that this is a fossil.

Malone
I was looking for something that didn't leave a streak and came across something that said many minerals leave a white streak so many geologists use a black plate. I don't know if that would help but I thought it might.
