These are a couple of my dinosaur toys I had as a kid in the late 1990's... I recently went back through an old box of childhood belongings to look for them, because while I was doing a fossil display in June I saw a little girl walking around with the exact same purple stegosaurus. It was a blast from the past to say the least! I think there were two other "main" dinosaur toys I played with, but I haven't gotten to them yet.

Here's the front and back of a calendar I bought in late 1993.  I tend to keep calendars rather than throw them away.  I had so many in the early 2000's that I put some out for sale and actually sold some.

These have been on the man cave shelf for years.  The petroglyph behind them is a replica I made  out of black painted sandstone from a photo I took of a panel in Moab.

Yep! I had the semi last-minute display of mainly assorted echinoids. While I was a little nervous and made several identification mistakes (mainly due to rushing myself), I had a lot of fun with it and made a few new friends, both among the displayers and the visitors. I'm definitely look forward to doing a display again, hopefully with better info and some more variety, perhaps with more of my own personal finds in particular.

The Cassowary may be the most fearsome of those therapods.

I went to my first fossil trade show in early September and picked up a few neat things, and had a good time! While I was leaving the venue I found this poor little Dilophosaurus abandoned in a dirt parking lot, and it looked like it had been there for a good while. I took pity on it, and have given it a bath and some shelter, in exchange for giving it the task of watching over my mid-prep Hardouinia mortonis on my desk.

1) Unfortunately I wished those claws were real, they are replica's :)
The Iguanodon claw is a cast from one that's on display in the NHM London

20230707_104930.thumb.jpg.f69ccfc3ed16b25d0c87c6fc28e626d4.jpg

2) I have no idea who produced the Psittacosaurus model as the company that produced them no longer exists.

3) The Therizinosaurus claw is again a replica, but yes the thing is massive. Just imagine its size with the keratine sheath that is would have when the animal was still alive.
