Spiddal Ireland coast find

Found this on the coast in Spiddal Ireland. Not sure is a piece of igneous rovk or something else.

might have started out as a fossil

Could be. A lot of different rocks from connemara ended up in Spiddal having been brought there by the ice. Difficult to say from the photo.

I'm leaning toward a bioeroded pebble with multiple pholad and sponge borings, rather than an igneous rock with cavities / vesicles in it.
