I have just bought two of these.

Are you suggesting they're suspect?

Too many novice hunters are suffering from this affliction:rofl:, and some get bent out of shape when told they're wrong.

I do read some funny stuff on here. I remember what one guy said when asked what size his fossil was, "about as big as a size 10 shoe". It cracked me up.

Seriously?! Do some sellers really think customers are that gullible to believe that a weirdly-shaped rock is a Gorgonops skull? Oh boy... :doh!:

Opalised fossils are the best: a wonderful mix between paleontology and mineralogy!

Q. Where do dinosaurs study?

A. At Khaan Academy!...

A while back out of curiosity I asked the seller to give some sort of explanations ...not because I was interested, but because I was confused about the listing...definitely looked like a rock. I was trying to give the seller the benefit of the doubt. She was kind and got back to me. After the seller answered a few of my questions, I received all kinds of offers just from not answering...then at the end I was told that if I didn’t jump on the deal fast...it would sell...:headscratch:

I really appreciate it that you helped visualize these specimens.  Potential buyers will be flocking to pickup the remaining specimens.  The seller should provide you some kickback but I'll let you deal with him.  That Hadro Stomach looks more like a heart placement :(

All I would like to know, is how sellers come to the conclusion of these IDs? Pareidolia, pure ignorance or pure greed? No matter what the case, because the fact is that the loser in the end will always be the buyer!

Thanks for posting my friend Frank! I was outraged, but I also laughed with all this! :ighappy:

Is It real, or it's not real, that's the question!

Ouch. These are ugly. The dinosaur organ is almost believable, because I'd imagine preserved organs would look messed up.

Now that's funny (and clever). Well done.

Let's hope the buyers of these "treasures" are the same individuals that spend six pages of threads on the forum insisting that their ordinary weathered rock is a priceless rare fossil.

Karma has a nasty bite!
