Cskelton
I'm trying this a second time. I tried creating a post this morning but am unable to locate it anywhere. So, if this is a double post, please forgive me. This item was found on a ranch in central montana, judith basin county. We dig for native american artifacts. This was found by my 14 year old daughter, among the artifacts, under an old tree stump that i removed. I believe that it was brought in by ancient man. We have been digging for some time and do not typically find fossils here.
Tidgy's Dad
Looks like a scleractinian button coral to me. 3 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
Carl
I am getting the sense that it is an etched limestone nodule from the softness of the radiating grooves. But I'd be happy hearing it was a fossil as well.
