RomanK
I have found an interesting colour of the fern leaf (Neuropteris) and stigmaria with lateral root elements Roman http://s1143.photobu.../donbassfossil/
fig rocks
Is iron causing that colour?
RomanK
Is iron causing that colour? I think yes, that is hematite (Fe2O3). Interesting thing that red is upper layer laid over black one - see second picture. Roman http://s1143.photobu.../donbassfossil/
Auspex
Is the matrix rock from there is very fine-grained and hard? The Stigmaria with rootlets is wonderful! The main rock in the tip here is a mudstone, it's fine-grained but not hard, layered as a rule.
