kauffy
Hey Everyone, I need Identifications on these corals from the missisipian of Indiana. They were found from areas around bloomington. If anyone has any idea that would be great! Thanks! kauffy
oh i thought the solitaries were the same species of rugosa, they were found with the colonial and are almost identical only solitary....hmm i should take a closer look at structure, if i get the opertunity I will cut some of the solatary ones up, but im sure some of the solitary ones are parts of the colonial that have broken off....there are a few different species i can see, (different shape ect) in the mix of the Solitary group pic. jkfoam
Kauffy, Solius is right. Call the colonial corals Lithostrotian sp. The solitary horn corals may be genus Caninia. I would label them Caninia sp. until someone suggested otherwise. To get a firm ID you may have to get a longitudinal cross section to examine the internal structure. JKFoam The Eocene is my favorite
