This was found on top of a hill in Big Sky, MT.  It is approximately 3x4 inches and the raised portion on top measures at most 1/4 inches. Not sure what to think of this since I usually find shallow ocean fossils.  I've asked for opinions from friends and they see wings and a fossil of something with appendages.  Personally, anything I find to post has been hard to confirm without an experts eye. I am getting better but would love a fresh opinion.

-1 for worm.

It's hard for me to imagine worms living in such an organized setting. A colony of small creatures using a common burrow is more what comes to mind.
