Can I bother you for some close-ups of a particular item?

The site pictures are beautiful. You're lucky you can hunt in Gainesville this time of year. I like to hunt on the Peace and my spots are too far underwater right now.

No problem I will see what I can do. Very tiny and probably difficult to photo :)

Yes it is nice in the gville creeks, but I love my river and hoping to return soon.

Ahhh, I know that tree in the first picture all too well. If I had known you were going, I could have showed you some of the better spots. Still, very colorful teeth.

cris anytime just pm me!

I'm a decent drive away, but I love to hunt. I tried to gather interest right before the board got updated...

...I'll try and get some better ones in the next few days

If you can, that would be great; this one is tantalizingly tough.

Sharp close-ups from all four "sides", plus one from the end, would give me hours of entertainment :)

Well....I'm stumped.

Looking at the first pics, I thought for sure it was the proximal end of an avian humerus femur, and all I had left to do was ID it:

With the new pics, I lost all my confidence; It might be a humerus femur, but of what I have no idea...

I have never seen an avian humerus femur head with no neck.

I hope another "bone head" will weigh in; I'm lost.

That Creek is very beautiful and I like the finds, I'm particularly interested in the same bone as Auspex. Time to get the books out!

Hah I thought for sure you would give me an id. I went nuts searching for it online. It did look like a avian humerus to me, but at the same time not one.

Sorry.

It could even be a fish bone for all I can tell.

To top it all off, I typed "humerus" when I meant "femur" .

I ought to quit when I'm behind, but I'm going to correct my post so anyone reading it in the future won't be thrown off.

I was thinking it may be a turtle or maybe a large frog leg. I don't really know but it may lead you to some answers.

Well, every mammal femur I've seen has a dimple for insertion of a ligament - don't know about reptiles though.

From Jim Tatum's website, wadda y'all think?

frog humerus - looks pretty much like a match to me.

WooHoo! Now I can sleep at night; thank you Don!

Just curious; did this thing look like a Native American war club to anyone else (or was it just my lack of sleep)?
