DD1991
Caelestiventus is quite an unusual Triassic pterosaur find outside Europe because Triassic pterosaur remains from North America had been reported by Chatterjee (1986) and Murry (1986), who referred those specimens to Eudimorphodon, even though they're fragmentary. Therefore, Caelestiventus is the most complete Triassic pterosaur from the Western Hemisphere. Chatterjee, S., 1986. The Late Triassic Dockum vertebrates: Their stratigraphic and paleobiogeographic significance. In: Padian K. (ed.), The beginning of the Age of Dinosaurs. Pp. 139-150, Cambridge Univ. Press, Cambridge. Murry, P.A., 1986. Vertebrate paleontology of the Dockum Group, western Texas and eastern New Mexico. In: Padian K. (ed.), The beginning of the Age of Dinosaurs. pp 109-107, Cambridge.
