fig rocks
LINK: I'm back......... from my amazing dino bone trip to the Battle River 2 hrs. east of Red Deer, my husband and I had a great experience hunting for dino bones in this amazing landscape where dinos roamed. The weather was great and the finds were good, here are some pics of the landscape and the bones we collected. Before we started searching for bones we hit the river banks where we found some little Brachiopods Edited September 17, 2009 by fig rocks
fig rocks
It was a 3 mile quad ride from our friends cabin to the edge of the colee where we started collecting. Our first stop was at the Tyrrell museum dig site of 1994 where a complete skeleton of an Albertasaurus was found. A few yards from that site we found our first boneit wasn't in good shape so we left it and moved on. Not to far from there we found our biggest pieces, 2 bone ends which we think came from the humerus of an Albertasaurus or a Hadrosaur!

fig rocks
We think this is a buffalo bone. The last time there was free range buffalo out here was 1880. Here's a possible buffalo jaw and teeth, might need some ID help with this one
