Trace Fossil

Here's an intersting trace fossil formed by some sea critter burrowing into the bottom and then the borrow gets infilled leaving a mold. The age is late Pennsylvanian and is from Jacksboro, Tx.

They are called "digitating feeding probes."

I bet Carl Baugh would swear this is a fossilised human hand.

That is very cool. Never seen anything like it. Do you find them often, occasionaly or rarely? What is the infill material?

I would assume the infill is similar to what the critter dug into, except the infill preserved harder than the surrounding matrix thus the mold.

That is amazing, if you ever find one with the middle "finger" extended, that would be priceless.

You might want to opt for foil boxers with a name like that. Really a unique trace fossil.
