LanceH Posted October 7, 2009 Share Posted October 7, 2009 (edited) Here's an intersting trace fossil formed by some sea critter burrowing into the bottom and then the borrow gets infilled leaving a mold. The age is late Pennsylvanian and is from Jacksboro, Tx. They are called "digitating feeding probes." I bet Carl Baugh would swear this is a fossilised human hand. I would assume the infill is similar to what the critter dug into, except the infill preserved harder than the surrounding matrix thus the mold.
