hemipristis Posted June 9, 2019 Share Posted June 9, 2019 Unfortunately, I believe it is just an ironstone concretion; i.e., geologic not fossil. A closer look at it doesn't reveal any structure, but rather looks like an iron-rich sandstone. But I can definitely see why you picked it up. I would have taken it home for a closer look as well. I would have picked it up also and taken it home as a most interesting mineral specimen. Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
