Uncle Siphuncle
Wow! Killer doubles. How do you prep your echies? For echs in extremely soft marls, I use water and a wire brush, then microblast with baking soda. For echs in harder marls, I use potassium hydroxide after using an airscribe to remove as much matrix as possible. For echs in harder limestones, I pretty much have to be satisfied with their presentation as found. Grüße, Daniel A. Wöhr aus Südtexas "To the motivated go the spoils." echinoman
Hi Dan, I use a similar methods for initial preparing (water and brush). I have not airscribe and sandblaster unfortunately. For detail prep, after potassium and/or acid i use ultrasound scaler. I'm lucky due to soft matrix in most of Cretaceous and Paleogene places where I collect echinoids. For very hard matrix i can do not anything

Missourian
I picked this up in the swap area at a local gem and mineral show: The price was so low, I didn't hesitate. I believe it is Melonechinus from the Mississippian St. Louis Limestone from the city of the same name. Context is critical.

Multicusp
I'll get some Eocene echinoids up here after a photo session. I have only found a few of the large ones, Eyglopus I think, but those are the ones that sell. Ton of the Hardounia and 2 different species of sand dollar though.
