What a nice big slice through the Ordovician!  :trilosurprise: The tiny trilobites and (relatively) big cephalopods are great, but those trace fossils were really eye-opening, I had never even heard of a number of them. Thank you for sharing.

Great job with your tile saw - those will look nice whenever you decide to display them :)

And congrats on your first compete Isotelus - it's such a cute little roller!

My favourite from your St. Leon trip is the Phragmolites dyeri - its ornamentation is beautiful!

Thanks Monica, it blended in with the ground and if I was not on my hands and knees looking I would have missed all of those pieces. Thanks to @Peat Burns Tony who supplied the id on that piece, I pm’d him right when I found it and he got right back with the info.

Here are some pieces that I used my cheap $35.00 tile saw to trim up t make them more appealing and easier to store.

Hope everyone liked this post, it was fun collecting the stuff.

Great report as always Ralph!

i am looking forward to collecting some of these sites later this year.

Please take a few pictures of the trilobite that is just below the Isotelus in your picture.

It is a rarer type but need a few better pictures to identify.

Thanks for the info on that, I will do it and post it later, and yes, you should get down there sometime, it is a lot of fun.

@RCFossils I was able to find it before I walked out of the house, are these better? If not, later I will use a stereoscope to take pics. Thanks again.

Congratulations!

you have a nice example of Tricopelta breviceps.

They are uncommon at the Saint Leon cut.

Wow- thanks for the help and quick response. I also wish I was better with the brachiopods, so many of them look alike to me.

Happy to help.

You had a great day at Saint Leon.

You managed to find relatively complete examples of three different species of trilobites. That is not an easy thing to do anywhere in the Cincinnatian.

Way to go. They are uncommon just about anywhere! THAT is the best thing you found hands down.  Be ever so careful cleaning it up.

I always love your posts Ralph. The pictures give me a great idea of what is at the site and gives me an idea of it is family friendly. At the end of this trip i bet the back of your vehicle was sagging a little lol.

Thanks and to be honest with you, I had a lot of empty containers left, I really did not bring much home this trip.
