DPS Ammonite
Neat. Give us some other view of the tooth. A guess based on size: a mastodon. Give us the locality and age of the rocks at the coal mine. My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned. See my Arizona Paleontology Guide link The best single resource for Arizona paleontology anywhere. DhulQ88
I am not expert in any of this so i have no idea of age of rocks in that mine, but it is located in Bosnia in mine called Gračanica between towns called Gornji Vakuf and Bugojno. Tooth is in my possession for around 25-28 years now, and it was basicly a decor object in home. I will be posting some more angles soon.. and sorry for my broken english as well.. Harry Pristis
How unusual! It has the size and the cingulum of a Lophiodon sp. tooth, but this is not a guess, just a reminder not to be limited to more recent and familiar animals. 1 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
