Crankyjob21
Do not know the age and possibly from Madagascar it’s around 6cm long and 7cm in diameter
Fossildude19
There is not a whole lot of the actual ammonite left to tell for sure, but I believe most of the polished ones from Madagascar are Cleoniceras sp. This one has been nearly polished into oblivion. 2 3 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." -Andy-
I am confident that this is from Madagascar, presumably from the Ambarrimaninga Formation which has an age of 112.6 - 99.7 Ma (early Cretaceous) As for ID, it's likely to be a Cleoniceras Looking forward to meeting my fellow Singaporean collectors! Do PM me if you are a Singaporean, or an overseas fossil-collector coming here for a holiday!
Ludwigia
Pity that all of the diagnostic features have been sanded away, so one can never be certain about an id. But as the others have already mentioned, it's more than likely a Cleoniceras, judging at least by the shape. Greetings from the Lake of Constance.
