Hello, I found this on Brighstone beach today. Is it anything? It looks like bones to me and they show on both sides. But I'm probably wrong! I think it's iron stone. Thanking you in advance.

I don't see bones, and I don't believe these pictures are adequate for an accurate identification.

#1 is just geologic but #2 appears consistent with some tooth. It's pretty worn but someone may have a better idea on what it came from.

Hello Sylv,

If you mean the brighter spots in the first one, the appear to be cross sections of a clinder going through. I would think rather of an infilled burrow than of bone though.

The second looks very much like tooth, I cannot tell what kind though.

I dont know what either sample is.  The second does not resemble any tooth structure that I am familar with those internal folds.  I am wondering about plant material from the site?

There was a photo mix-up and this topic used to have two specimens but admins fixed it which is why you only see 1 now
