found at warden point, isle of Sheppey. I was wondering if this was a nodule and if it had a fossil inside and if so how to prepare?

thank you for any help

might be, might not. If there is nothing to see from outside you never know. If it is a fossil-containing-nodule.

Best is, take a small hammer and open it piece by piece from one side by hammering small shards away

good luck!

This is most likely not going to contain a fossil of any substance. It looks to be a partial burrow and may contain small fragments of crustacean or fish. Try looking under a microscope. I certainly would not hit this with a hammer of any kind, it will not end well.
