Hello, 

 

I was collecting pretty rocks from Crescent Beach in Algoma, WI. This was one I picked up because of its neat shape. I now believe it may  be a fossil but I don’t know to what. I’m curious so I hope to get some suggestions.

Sorry. The shape is suggestive of the centrum from a vertebra. The texture is wrong though. This shape is the result of layers of rock that differ in their resistance to erosion.
