Fossil?

I found this at Illinois State Beach (lake Michigan)

 

Hi everyone, I've got this fossil and I'm stumped about what it could be. Any ideas on its identification would be greatly appreciated!

 

I did look through the fossil forum's post on fossil identification and I did find this fossil here that could possibly be related??

That looks like fossilized seafloor whith clams and gastrpods bedded in. They're to partial to identify them.

Broken shell detritus in matrix. In my opinion, the only way to even get close to guessing ids would be to determine the provenance and study the available fauna. By the way, your link just brings us back here.
