Welp, looks like the gigas and mapus have more giants to feast on (and get squashed from)  ^_^

If you're a fossil nut from Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Redondo Beach, or Torrance, feel free to shoot me a PM!

This story seems to come out every couple of years... and almost every time later estimates are smaller than what was initially reported. Remember Dreadnoughtus

Yup, seems like a new one every year!

Yes, but at least for the time being, patagotitan is king. Who knows? Maybe this time they will be right the first time. The skeleton seemed to consist of a few bones which should make a better measurement right?

What about Amphicoelias fragilimus? Maybe not the heaviest, but from the estimates (which are likely wrong, considered they are made upon a tiny fraction of the skeleton) it seems to be the longest...

Yes but it's my understanding the holotype is lost, and the measurements approximate. I also think there was a crazy estimate for antarctosaurus that's said something like 190! 112-120 from what I read is reasonable for patagotitan.

Yeah... 190 is crazy indeed! I think Amphicoelias was estimated at 160-70 or something?

Basically, Patagotitan, like other titanosaurs, is more of a heavy-weight than a length champion.
